Hunter Karam

Founder and Managing Director of the Mental Fitness Collective

Hunter Karam is the founder and Managing Director of the Mental Fitness Collective, a registered charity dedicated to making mental fitness a normal part of everyday life.

Launched in 2023, the Collective began as a grassroots movement, small weekly gatherings built around movement, reflection, and real conversation. What started as a way to bring people together quickly evolved into a growing national initiative designed to equip individuals with the tools to build resilience before crisis hits.

A former tradie, Hunter understands the pressures of work, relationships, and self-expectation, and how these can quietly erode wellbeing over time. His lived experience, combined with a deep curiosity for human behaviour, sparked a mission to shift mental health from reactive support to proactive training.

Under Hunter’s leadership, MFC is redefining what it means to be mentally well. The organisation now delivers weekly community events, large-scale NOTA (None of the Above) experiences, and is building educational programs grounded in clinical expertise, neuroscience, and lived experience.

Hunter was recently nominated as Young Sydneysider of the Year, recognised for his leadership in reshaping how we think and talk about mental health. His approach is practical, human, and refreshingly honest, inviting people of all backgrounds to train their mental fitness just as they would their physical health.

At the heart of everything he does is a simple belief: everyone deserves the skills to think, feel, and act in alignment with the person they want to be.
